Former County Court Judge Susan Cacace, a Democrat, emerged as the winner in the DA race, defeating her opponent, Republican John Sarcone, by a margin of 64 to 36 percent of votes, according to the county's Board of Elections.

Cacace, who resigned as County Court Judge in December 2023 after nearly 20 years in the position, gave a statement on social media following her victory:

"I am deeply humbled to have earned the support of the people of Westchester County...Throughout this campaign, I’ve remained committed to protecting victims, holding offenders accountable, and ensuring that our justice system serves everyone with fairness and integrity. This is my pledge to you for the next four years," Cacace wrote.

In addition to her experience in the County Court, Cacace also spent nearly 15 years serving in the Westchester DA's Office.

She holds a law degree from Pace University, which she earned in 1989.

Westchester's current District Attorney, Miriam Rocah, chose not to run for re-election, which she announced in October 2023.
